DO IT FOR LONDON WITH MACMILLAN CANCER SUPPORT!
Leyland SDM Does it for London - and Macmillan Cancer Support!
It’s all about Macmillan Cancer Support here at Leyland SDM during October.
Our 30 stores will all embark on a ‘Do It For London’ charity campaign as we aim to raise a total of £50,000 for Macmillan.
‘Do It For London’ will see customers invited to increase the value of their shop to make a donation to the charity.
Paul Gerreli, Marketing Director, said: “We are extremely excited for the month ahead and coming together as a business to make a huge effort for Macmillan Cancer Support.
“Like all charities, the pandemic has been an extremely testing time for Macmillan and we hope to play a small part in helping provide the funds for it carry on delivering first-class services for those with cancer, both now and in the future.
“It’s an unfortunate fact that virtually everyone’s life has been touched by cancer in one way or another so every pound we raise will be absolutely vital.
“As all our stores are in London, we have ensured that every penny raised during our campaign will stay supporting Macmillan services and staff in the capital.
“We have set ourselves what would be a record-breaking total as a target and hopefully the entire Leyland SDM team and our extremely generous customers can come together to make it a month to remember.”
Macmillan is the UK’s leading cancer support charity, with an ambition to be there for everyone from the moment they are diagnosed.
Melanie Humphreys, Macmillan’s Relationship Fundraising Manager for London, said: “For more than 100 years, we’ve been there for people with cancer when they needed us most. And the reality is that our support has never been needed more than it is today – our Macmillan Support Line has answered more than a quarter of a million telephone queries since the first national lockdown
“We are delighted that Leyland SDM is joining our fundraising efforts so we can keep providing physical, financial and emotional support to the millions of people that count on all of us so that cancer does not become the Forgotten ‘C’.
“Cancer is not going anywhere. And neither can we.”
